New Twist on Transportation Claim – Fault: Zombies

Here is a new twist on the traditional transportation claim: A recent accident that ended up closing a California highway for hours happened after a man, who claims that he was fleeing from zombies, crashed the stolen truck he was driving. Jerimiah Clyde Hartline, age 19, took a truck full of strawberries and made his get away from the zombies that he claimed were in pursuit of him, according to News.com.au on April 11, 2013.

Unfortunately the driver hit a few vehicles and those vehicles plowed into other vehicles causing more damage. The truck driver said that Hartline was a “stow away” from Tennessee and when they stopped on the road briefly, he took off with the rig. The question remains, will the transportation claim investigation result in fault laying with the zombies or the stolen trucks driver?
